About Drew Neisser
There are only two people in the world who have interviewed more CMOs. If you don’t know who they are, ping me. These interviews are my manna. They’ve fueled 2 books, over 380 podcast episodes, and 500+ articles. They give me a vast reservoir of case histories I draw upon when coaching CMOs 1:1 or via CMO Huddles, the B2B CMO community I founded in 2020. More importantly, these interviews connected me with inspired marketers, many of whom I call friends, and all of whom have taught me what I know about marketing greatness, empathetic leadership, and overcoming challenges.
Since its start on April 1, 2020, CMO Huddles has been my joy ride. Our community of over 350 B2B marketing leaders come together regularly to share, care, and dare each other to greatness. And I have the privilege of moderating these conversations, ensuring that the learning never stops for all involved. CMO Huddles also allowed me to close Renegade, the agency I founded and ran for 30 years, and relaunch it as a media brand that supports our community.
Just in case you were wondering, I started my career at big agencies like JWT and Chiat/Day and founded Renegade in 1993. Over 3 decades, Renegade won just about every award imaginable for creativity and marketing effectiveness. I had the privilege of naming the Toughbook for Panasonic, creating the BankCab for HSBC, and penning many enduring taglines like “On the Case” for Case Paper (5 years and counting) and “Where Family Comes First” for Family Circle (18 years!)
Speaking of writing, my 2nd book, Renegade Marketing: 12 Steps to Building Unbeatable B2B Brands, came out in late 2021 and was recognized as the top B2B audiobook in 2022 and was a finalist for the ANA’s best marketing book of the year. I have written the CMO Spotlight column for AdAge for the last 10 years and am ranked among LinkedIn’s Top 15 Voices in Marketing.
When I’m not huddling with CMOs, I’m spending time with my wife and our two grown-up kids in New York City, obsessing about Ben Franklin, supporting my alma mater Duke University, or serving on the board of the Urban Green Council.
Finally, at CMO Huddles, we are not just tickled by the fact that a group of penguins is called a huddle. We are inspired by these magnificent birds, are committed to their conservation, and proudly support the Global Penguin Society by donating 1% of our annual revenue.
